[\/boite_grise]<\/div>\n<p>Before you book an individual consultation, you&#8217;ll find answers to many of your questions on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/en\/international\/immigration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ULaval immigration<\/a> website. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bve.ulaval.ca\/en\/international-students\/conferences\/\">Workshops and presentations<\/a> are also offered throughout the year to provide you with information and answer your questions.<\/p>\n<h2>Advising service\u00a0with Appointment<\/h2>\n<div class=\"div-br\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<p><strong>If you are studying at Universit\u00e9 Laval<\/strong>, you can meet with an international student advisor virtually or in person for information or guidance on the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Obtaining or renewing the immigration documents for you and your immediate family members.<\/li>\n<li>Help to face the challenges of adjusting to and finding your place in Quebec and university life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By meeting with one of our advisors, you agree to our <a href=\"#standards\">service standards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display:none;visibility:hidden\">\n<h5 data-tadv-p=\"keep\"><span style=\"color: #e96f22;\">Who is the advising service for?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>This service is intended exclusively for those registered in a Universit\u00e9 Laval study program, exchange students, and recent graduates.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #e96f22;\">Advising service hours<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Tuesday and Thursday:<\/strong> 9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. (closed between 12 and 13 p.m.)<\/p>\n<p>We are closed on holidays.<\/p>\n[boite_bleue]<\/p>\n<h6>IMPORTANT<\/h6>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\">The advising service will be closed on November 19<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/boite_bleue]\n<p><strong>***<\/strong> <strong>Important:\u00a0 the individual consultation services are suspended until further notice. For any question, we invite you to contact us at etudiantsetrangers@bve.ulaval.ca.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The university community is encouraged to consult the\u00a0COVID-19 web page\u00a0to stay informed as the situation evolves, as well as to see various public health recommendations.***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The appointments are for a maximum of 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Exceptionally, there will be no individual consultations for international students from November\u00a027 to December\u00a01.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Appointments<\/h3>\n<div style=\"display:none;visibility:hidden\">[boite_bleue]<\/p>\n<h6>IMPORTANT<\/h6>\n<p><strong>Our service is closed for the Holidays.<\/strong> We will be back on January 3.<\/p>\n<p>[\/boite_bleue]<\/p><\/div>\n<p>To book an appointment in person or online, visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bve.ulaval.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Articulate\/BVE-Mai-2024-Eng\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online booking platform<\/a>. You&#8217;ll find <strong>all the time slots available on the current day and the following day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"boite-grise\">\n<h6>TIPS<\/h6>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>When the service is completely booked on the current day and the following day, it&#8217;s normal to see nothing on the calendar and to see a note next to the name of the staff saying &#8220;Le chargement est en cours\u2026 Merci de patienter \u00bb<\/li>\n<li>New availabilities are added at midnight and may remain posted for a few minutes or several hours, depending on demand. If no availability suits you or if the service is fully booked, come back on the following days to access new time slots.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s normal not to see any new availability slots opening up on Fridays and Saturdays. Log in early on Sunday morning (from midnight on the night of Saturday to Sunday) to book an appointment for monday.<\/li>\n<li>You can choose the advisor you would like to meet. To see the availability of all the employees, select \u00abN&#8217;importe quel employ\u00e9\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>Once you have booked an appointment, make sure you have received your confirmation email. If you haven&#8217;t received it, you may have made a mistake in your email or it may be in your junk mail. If you have any problems, please contact us at 418 656-2765.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Collection of personal information<\/h4>\n<p>Universit\u00e9 Laval collects your information to offer you an appointment with an international student advisor. All required information is mandatory, unless otherwise specified.<\/p>\n<p>To access or modify your information, please contact the person <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/notre-universite\/direction-et-gouvernance\/bureau-du-secretaire-general\/demande-dacces-aux-renseignements-personnels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responsible for the protection of personal information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about the protection of your personal information, please refer to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/confidentialite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">privacy policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display:none;visibility:hidden\">\n<h4>Two types of sessions are offered:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Short meetings<\/strong><br \/>\nThese 10-minute sessions will be available by reservation 24 hours in advance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Longer meetings<\/strong><br \/>\nThese 30-minute sessions will be available by reservation 7 days in advance.<\/p>\n<p>You can also choose which advisor you want to meet with. To see the availability of all advisors, select \u201cN&#8217;importe quel employ\u00e9\u201d. <strong>If there isn\u2019t a time available that works for you, come back the next day to check for new time slots<\/strong>.<\/p>\n[boite_bleue]<\/p>\n<h6>Meeting with LNG Services<\/h6>\n<p>To meet the high demand for appointments during the ongoing pandemic, the Student Life Office (BVE) is making it possible for you to book an appointment with an immigration consultant from the firm LGN Services, in addition to booking appointments with our advisors. If you meet with LGN Services, you can discuss only things related to Immigration Canada documents, such as study permits, work permits, and temporary resident visas. For all other questions, book an appointment with a BVE advisor.<\/p>\n<p>[\/boite_bleue]\n<p>If you have symptoms of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/sites\/default\/files\/COVID-19\/Questionnaire_auto_evaluation_symptomes_COVID19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID<\/a> (in French only), don\u2019t come to Universit\u00e9 Laval.<\/p>\n<p>We grant one appointment per person at a time. You must wait until you have had your first consultation before asking for a second appointment.<\/p>\n<p>In case of multiple appointment requests, only the last request will be approved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We do not accept appointments by email, by voicemail or in-person.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Appointments will be no more than 30 minutes long.<\/p>\n<p>To book an appointment, call the Student Life Office (BVE)\u2014Monday to Friday after 9:00 a.m. (418-656-2765). Appointment slots are scheduled up to one week in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Appointments are available for the same day only.<\/p>\n<p>Two ways to make an appointment:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><strong> From 8:30 a.m.<\/strong>: in person at Bureau de la vie \u00e9tudiante<\/li>\n<li><strong> From 9:00 a.m.<\/strong>: by phone at 418 656-2765<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can make an appointment in person, Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Student Life Office. For urgent matters, we recommend that\u00a0you register in person to be sure to be seen as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>You can also make an appointment by phone, starting at 9 a.m. at 418\u00a0656-2765.<\/p>\n<p>On the day you seek to meet an advisor, you can show up in person at our office from 8:30 a.m. onward or call at 418 656-2765 after 9 a.m. Same day appointments are booked on a \u00abfirst come, first served\u00bb basis. You will be given an approximate time for your appointment when you sign up. Please arrive at least 10 minutes in advance. We make every effort to be ready for your appointment on schedule. Unfortunately, we may fall slightly behind schedule, in which case your appointment may start later than planned. Thank you for your understanding.<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>For in-person appointments (\u201cpr\u00e9sentiel\u201d)<\/h4>\n<p>Make sure you arrive 5 minutes in advance. We recommend that you have your immigration documents, such as your CAQ and study permit, on hand.<\/p>\n<h4>For virtual appointments (\u201cen ligne\u201d)<\/h4>\n<p>Connect 5 minutes before your appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Virtual meetings are done on the Teams platform. You will receive a clickable link to connect in your confirmation email.<\/p>\n<p>We will do our best to try to meet you at the appointment time that you have been given. However, there may be a slight delay in appointment times. Your appointment may start a little later than expected. Please stay connected while waiting for your advisor.<\/p>\n<div class=\"boite-bleue\">\n<h6>Important<\/h6>\n<p>If you are no longer available for your appointment, use the cancellation link in the confirmation email to cancel your appointment or contact us by phone as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We do not accept appointments by email or by voicemail.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Email<\/h2>\n<p>We do not answer immigration consultation questions by email. In order to adapt to your needs and better serve you, in-person and virtual meeting timeslots are available.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display:none;visibility:hidden\"> You can email international student advisors at <a href=\"mailto:etudiantsetrangers@bve.ulaval.ca\">etudiantsetrangers@bve.ulaval.ca<\/a> anytime with questions about immigration matters or any other question regarding our services.<\/p>\n<p>To be answered you must write to us from your university email account (@ulaval.ca) or, if writing from another account, include your Universit\u00e9 Laval ID number or IDUL. We will therefore reply to emails within 5 business days (Monday to Friday).<\/p>\n<p>Question sent from any other email account or without UL ID will not be answered.<\/p><\/div>\n<h2><a id=\"standards\"><\/a>Service standards<\/h2>\n<p>All of our advisors are licensed by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/college-ic.ca\/?l=en-US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC)<\/a>. As such, they must adhere to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazette.gc.ca\/rp-pr\/p2\/2022\/2022-06-22\/html\/sor-dors128-eng.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Code of Professional Conduct<\/a>\u00a0and the highest standards of confidentiality, including those of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/document\/cs\/A-2.1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>BY BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Our service is free of charge.<\/li>\n<li>A 20-minute session per meeting.<\/li>\n<li>There is no limit to the number of appointments you can have while you are eligible for our service. However, we allow only one appointment per person at a time. If you ask for multiple appointments, we will approve only your last request. You have to wait until you have completed your first appointment before booking another.<\/li>\n<li>If you are late for your appointment, you will lose your spot. You will have to start the process again and book an appointment for another day if there is no time slot available on the same day.<\/li>\n<li>Attending your appointment and being on time are important. In the event of repeated no-shows, last-minute cancellations or late arrivals, the BVE reserves the right to suspend your eligibility for our service for a period of 30 to 90 days.<\/li>\n<li>We offer this immigration service so you can get advice and help in navigating the immigration steps you need to take to stay in Canada as a student. We can\u2019t represent you as you carry out these steps, nor can we complete or submit applications on your behalf.<\/li>\n<li>We don\u2019t intervene with IRCC or MIFI to change a decision or speed up how quickly they process an application.<\/li>\n<li>If the circumstances aren\u2019t conducive to holding a virtual appointment, our advisors reserve the right to end an appointment. If our employees are treated with disrespect, we reserve the right to end your appointment and\/or suspend your eligibility for our service for 30\u00a0to 90\u00a0days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>INDIVIDUALS ELIGIBLE FOR OUR SERVICE:<\/h4>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Students in a study program, open studies, pre-university program, French language program (francization), or exchange program.<\/li>\n<li>Students who are temporarily not enrolled (shut out from a program, on a leave of absence, had enrolment cancelled for administrative purposes, having status restored, changed program, etc.) and who want to take up studies again at Universit\u00e9 Laval.<\/li>\n<li>Recent graduates \u2013 for a maximum of 12 months after the date they obtained their degree.<\/li>\n<li>Students who have been admitted, but have not started their studies at Universit\u00e9 Laval &#8211; within 30 days prior to the start of their first semester.<\/li>\n<li>Exchange students, from 30 days before the start of their exchange to 90 days after the end of the exchange.<\/li>\n<li>Family members (spouse and children) of the above;\u00a0<strong>these individuals must always be accompanied at their appointment by the student.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>INDIVIDUALS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR OUR SERVICE:<\/h4>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Universit\u00e9 Laval employees, including training and research interns and postdoctoral fellows.<\/li>\n<li>Graduates who have completed their studies more than 12 months ago.<\/li>\n<li>Students from other educational institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Students enrolled in non-credit studies with the Formation continue (Continuing Studies) department at Universit\u00e9 Laval.<\/li>\n<li>Permanent residents and Canadian citizens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*If you have any doubts about whether you are eligible for our service or if you want to check whether we can offer you support in your situation, call us before booking an appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have been admitted to a Universit\u00e9 Laval program but have not started their studies can write to <a href=\"mailto:immigration@reg.ulaval.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immigration@reg.ulaval.ca<\/a> for assistance with the immigration process to study in Canada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you a training or research intern?<\/strong><br \/>\nIf so, see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/en\/international\/immigration\/training-and-research-interns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Immigration \u2013 Training and research interns<\/a>\u00a0section of the Universit\u00e9 Laval website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you a postdoctoral researcher or clinical fellow?<br \/>\n<\/strong>If so, see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/en\/international\/immigration\/postdoctoral-fellows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Immigration \u2013 Postdoctoral fellows<\/a>\u00a0section of the Universit\u00e9 Laval website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you interested in studying at Universit\u00e9 Laval?<\/strong><br \/>\nIf so, get in touch with the Future Students Welcome Centre:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/en\/future-students\/international-applicants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International applicants | Studying at Universit\u00e9 Laval | Qu\u00e9bec City, Canada<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Comment or complaint<\/h5>\n<p>In spite of the energy we put day after day into maintaining the highest quality of service, you may still be dissatisfied.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to file a complaint, you may do so by filling out the <a href=\"https:\/\/formulaireweb.ulaval.ca\/dse\/commentaire_ou_plainte\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complaint form<\/a>. This form will be forwarded to the Director of Bureau de la vie \u00e9tudiante for follow-up. We commit to acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 2 business days and to provide you with a response within a maximum of 10 business days. If additional time is required to finalize the handling of your complaint, we will inform you as soon as possible. As a further recourse, if you feel aggrieved, you may contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/ombudsman.ulaval.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bureau de l&#8217;ombudsman de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Laval<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are dissatisfied with Universit\u00e9 Laval&#8217;s handling of your case, you may also file a complaint with the <a href=\"https:\/\/college-ic.ca\/protecting-the-public\/complaints-process\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CICC<\/a> against a member of our team who holds the designation of Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISA) and who may have failed to comply with <a href=\"https:\/\/college-ic.ca\/protecting-the-public\/code-of-professional-conduct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CICC&#8217;s Code of Ethics<\/a> or demonstrated incompetence.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display:none;visibility:hidden\">\n<h5><span style=\"color: #e96f22;\">Student Advising Appointment<\/span><\/h5>\n[boite_grise]<\/p>\n<h2>COVID-19<\/h2>\n<p>Because of the ongoing situation with the coronavirus disease (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/en\/covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID-19<\/a>), lappointments will be held by phone until further notice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong>Please note that <strong>you have to use the booking form to make an appointment<\/strong>. The email will advise you of the approximate time an advisor will contact you. Once your appointment has been confirmed, please keep your phone close at hand. It would be a good idea to have a pen and paper handy for taking notes during the call.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that there may be a slight delay in appointment times.
