In Qu\u00e9bec, choosing whether to see a doctor in a medical clinic or in a hospital depends on the severity of your medical condition. If your condition does not require immediate attention, it is recommended to visit a medical clinic or consult a specialist in a pharmacy.<\/p>\n

Consultation and file opening fees may apply. We advise you to contact the medical clinic to find out the rates before making an appointment for a consultation. These fees may be reimbursed by your insurance if they are covered.<\/p>\n

CAUTION – CONSULTATION FEES
\nA government directive compels the medical clinic to require payment of the fees related to the medical consultation, at the time of the visit. The invoices for the medical expenses incurred are necessary to claim reimbursement from the insurers. Keep these invoices in case you need to make a claim. Proof of medical diagnosis may also be required at the time of claim.<\/p>\n

Private medical clinics:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Private medical clinics are an alternative to the public health care system. However, there are fees for regular consultations and emergency care. If certain conditions are met, you can generally<\/strong> get reimbursed for these fees by your insurer.
