You should also familiarize yourself with the information on our \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/en\/covid-19\/mandatory-quarantine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vaccination, testing, and quarantine requirements for entering Canada<\/a>\u201d page.[\/boite_bleue]<\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/espace-etudiant\/laissez-passer-universitaire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laissez-passer universitaire-LPU<\/a> is a public transit pass available only to full-time students at Universit\u00e9 Laval. It offers unlimited access to the regular services of R\u00e9seau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) and Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de L\u00e9vis (STL\u00e9vis) for the fall and winter semesters. It is one of the mandatory institutional fees, and is automatically charged to all full-time students.<br \/>\nFor more information about ordering the LPU, see the <a href=\"#publictransit\">Public transit<\/a> section.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Fall semester: valid from September 1 to December 31<\/li>\n<li>Winter semester: January 1 to April 30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">Outside the LPU validity period, or for your other needs, consult the tabs below for all the information you need to get around Quebec City.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\">\n<h2>Bicycles<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>You can also travel by bicycle. However, you must meet the criteria specified on your licence. If your driver&#8217;s licence is not in French or English, you are strongly advised to get an international driver&#8217;s licence. You can apply for it in the country where you obtained your driver&#8217;s licence. You should always keep your driver&#8217;s licence with your international driver&#8217;s licence.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not have a driver&#8217;s licence and wish to get one, contact the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de l&#8217;assurance automobile du Qu\u00e9bec (SAAQ).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/saaq.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de l&#8217;assurance automobile du Qu\u00e9bec (SAAQ)<\/a> is the government agency responsible for vehicle registration, driver&#8217;s licences, driving tests, the rules of the road, and road accidents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\">\n<h2>Intercity Buses<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>Interested in taking advantage of your stay at Universit\u00e9 Laval to explore other areas of Canada or the United States? The U-Pass can be mailed only to addresses in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<p>If you have reserved a room in residence but do not know your room number yet, you can pick your U-Pass up at the reception desk when you arrive at your residence hall.<\/p>\n<h4>Visiting students<\/h4>\n<p>If you are a visiting student (exchange student), your LPU membership is optional. You will automatically receive an email within a few weeks of registering for your classes with information on how to apply for your LPU membership and a certificate that will allow you to do so.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>If you are not eligible for the LPU, which pass is right for you?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Qu\u00e9bec City has a public bus system, R\u00e9seau de transport de la Capitale (RTC).
